Course Description:
This semester long course is an introduction to our fine arts program. The class is a project-based course designed to have students create works of art in various media and techniques. Problem solving art projects are selected to focus student learning on the elements of art and principles of design. Students will express their ideas through art while developing an understanding of art as a visual language, which is communicated throughout history and all cultures. Area studied will include drawing, painting, perspective, color theory, sculpture, printmaking and ceramics. A sketchbook for class journaling is required.
